The Philippines in April has quite a lot to offer to the tourists, from an array of adventure activities to some of the most beautiful places, there is fairly a lot to explore here. The colorful festivals add to one’s experience. In the town of Floridablanca, Pampanga, this also marks the beginning of the Pinukpok Festival, a weeklong celebration of colors and festivities highlighting the artistry, creativity, and unity of the whole Kapampangan community. This embodies the Kapampangan spirit and binds them in culture and traditions uniquely their own. Pinukpok Festival is an annual event held in Floridablanca during the summer of April to celebrate its religion and culture. The word “Pinukpok” came from the word “pukpuk/pukpok” which means to hammer some pieces of aluminum to form kitchenware. The different barangays of Floridablanca join the festival as their way of showing appreciation for art and culture. On the day of the celebration, there is a street dance competition in each barangay, there are also colorful costumes worn by the dancers and sometimes their headdresses are designed like aluminum kitchenware. On the night of the Pinukpok Festival, the same barangays from the street dance will have another competition wherein they will showcase their talents by interpretative dance—interpreting the history of the Kapampangan community on how aluminum kitchenware is made.

Recently, in the town of Floridablanca, Diosdado Reyes, one of the owners, recently talked about how it is going on his and his wife’s business DongDes Pinukpok Aluminum Kitchenwares. As of the present situation we have, Diosdado said that it is also hard for them to earn money from their business but they still continue to make aluminum kitchenware so that when they need money, at least they have something to claim. Their business is not just a business, for them, it is their life. And there are a lot of stories to tell.
From the thrilling adventures to the beautiful natural treasures, the Philippines in April has something for everyone. The lively festivals add to the city's overall delight. Pampanga, the Philippines' culinary capital, isn't your typical foodie getaway. Pampanga, surrounded by Mount Arayat's shadow, is a country destination with a variety of vacation options. Pampanga's uniqueness makes it both provocative and comforting, making it ideal for your next summer retreat or escape. Mekeni, tuki ka, malaus ka Pampanga!
